Plan for Graduation

Graduation is an exciting time so to make sure you get there, we’ve compiled all the necessary information you need to register and prepare for your graduation.

Registrar

The Office of the University Registrar maintains a clear and concise ‘Steps to Graduation’ which every student must follow in order to graduate. These include running the online degree evaluation program and applying to graduate. The site also includes important information about Commencement and your diploma.

Schools and Colleges

Check with your school or college to ensure you meet all requirements to graduate. Requirements may include applying for graduation within the school/college or department and completing your thesis or dissertation. Additionally, look for information specific to the school/college’s Graduate Convocation.

Cap and Gown

Make sure to order your cap and gown at the University Bookstore. Students must go to the bookstore to complete a form. Look for information about the Graduation Fair taking place in March on each of Mason campus where you can order diploma frames, announcements, and your cap and gown.

Alumni Association

Stay involved with Mason as an active Alumni! Once you graduate you automatically become an alumnus and a member of the Alumni Association. Get involved with you school-based Chapter or a Regional Club. The Alumni Association also has insurance benefits and discounts available online. Stay involved by joining the Association’s Facebook and LinkedIn groups and subscribing to the Mason Wire.
